PostSubject: Mambo No.5 (A Little Bit Of) by Lou Bega   Mambo No.5 (A Little Bit Of) by Lou Bega EmptyWed Dec 08, 2010 10:39 am

Probably the technically oldest songs I have aside from national anthems.(Which I have all of like four or five older, all of them present during World War II at the very least.)

And any of you who don't know of Mambo No. 5 need to die, right now. One of the first songs I got hooked on lol. (btw, this is the 90's version, not the original. Lou Bega is not the original singer, he just took it into the modern world. PĂ©rez Prado wrote and sung it in 1949. Bega just repopularized it.)

Mambo No.5 is jive music. Which isn't half bad I have to admit. I still wanna hear MOAR JAMAICAN ACCENT though. Bawdawss awccent mawn. [/jamacianaccent]

One note, when Bega says 'car' in the first line is sounds a hell of a lot closer to a colloquism for a phalic object belonging to the male human species. (lol, I'm in this whole 'anchor chart' and 'high-yield strategy' speak. Actually, it's fun to lengthen words into arbitration. XD)

As well, I've added in the sound effect for his yell, and tweaked a few words to reflect his awesome accent. (Yes the first instance of 'number' is 'numbuh' unlike the others, because he's just saying it, not singing it, and it sounds different.) I've probably missed a few effects in there, but you'd get the idea.

The 're in thr're that I've striken out I did because I don't think he actually says that. Literally, you can't hear it, and I'm pretty sure it's not because he's going too fast.

Finally, the cover for the album this is in is amazingly creepy. Bega with a puffy face, blowing on a trumpet (oh god, can't unsee!) with a bugle coming out of the side of his gut and another trumpet doing largely the same, only out of his hip.

Lyrics:

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Mambo numbuh five.

Verse 1

One, two, three, four, five, everybody in the car so come on let's ride.....

To the, liquor store around the corner.

The boys say they want some gin and juice but I really don't wanna.

Beerbust like I had last week.

I must stay deep 'cause talk is cheap.

I like Angela, Pamela, Sandra and Rita.

And as I continue, you know they're getting sweetah.

Unh!

So what can I do? I really beg you my Lord.

To me flirting is just like a sport.

Anything fly, it's all good let me dump it.

Please set it in the trumpet.

Chorus

A little bit of Monica in my life,

A little bit of Erica by my side.

A little bit of Rita's all I need,

A little bit of Tina's all I see.

A little bit of Sandra in the sun,

A little bit of Mary all night long.

A little bit of Jessica here I am,

A little bit of you makes me your man!!!!!!!!

ooooahhh!

Mambo numbah faive.

ooooahhh!

Verse 2

Jump up and down, and move it all around.

Shake your head to the sound, put your hands on the ground.

Take one step left, and one step right.

One to the front, and one to the side.

Clap your hands once, and clap your hands twice

And if it look like this then you're doing it right.

Chorus

A little bit of Monica in my life,

A little bit of Erica by my side.

A little bit of Rita's all I need,

A little bit of Tina's all I see.

A little bit of Sandra in the sun,

A little bit of Mary, all night long.

A little bit of Jessica here I am,

A little bit of you makes me your man!!!!!!!!

ooooahhh!

Bridge

ooooahhh!

Trumpet, the trumpet.

Mambo number five, ha, ha, ha.

Outro

I do all to, fall in love with a girl like you.

Cause you can't run, and you can't hide,

You and me gonna touch the sky.

[Aggrivatingly long instrumental run]

Mambo numbah faive!

ooooahhh!

BONUS LYRICS: Bob The Builder Mambo No. 5. I googled the lyrics and LOL THE SECOND HIT WAS THIS SONG. xD

Even though my ears very nearly mutinied along with my brain, I managed to get through this without dying. Oh man that was totally screwed up. xD

LOL! When this song came out, I was just a little kid, and my parents listened to it often, and I remembered that I was always awed and excited at the fact that my name was mentioned in it. XD
aaah. Smile I was a funny kid.

We had a little animatronic thing of Bega that played and danced to the song. It was funny when the batteries started to die, because the voice started out normal and then just slowed down. xD
