| Hmm, this is my 2nd music post in like a week. I will make sure to restrain myself from taking advantage of this topic section and constantly posting. xD But anyways, I wanted to post a song by my favorite band Muse. This song is called "Resistance." In an interveiw with the lead singer and writer or the song, Matthew Ballamy, he stated that he was inspired to write "Resistance" after reading the fabulous book 1984 by George Orwell (if you havent read it, OMG, read it!) and he said that the song was based on the romance between Winston and Julia. "Frontman of Muse, Matt Bellamy, has said that the lyrical themes of their 2009 album The Resistance were inspired by 1984. The title track in particular is a direct reference to 1984 and is about Winston and Julia's secret love relationship. One phrase deliberately elicits 1984 "Kill the prayers for love and peace / you'll wake the thought police / we can't hide the truth inside." I've always wanted to write a poem, or song, based on a relationship or situation in a work of fiction, so i find this song interesting. Not to mention it's a kickass song! Anyways, here are the lyrics. If you have read 1984 you can easily see how he is refering to it. Is our secret safe tonight? And are we out of sight? Or will our world come tumbling down? Will they find our hiding place? Is this our last embrace? Or will the walls start caving in?
(It could be wrong, could be wrong) But it should have been right. (It could be wrong, could be wrong) To let our hearts ignite. (It could be wrong, could be wrong) Are we digging a hole? (It could be wrong, could be wrong) This is out of control.
(It could be wrong, could be wrong) It can never last. (It could be wrong, could be wrong) Must erase it fast. (It could be wrong, could be wrong) But it could have been right. (It could be wrong, could be...)
Love is our resistance. They'll keep us apart and they won't stop breaking us down. Hold me. Our lips must always be sealed.
If we live a life in fear I'll wait a thousand years Just to see you smile again.
Kill your prayers for love and peace. You'll wake the thought police. We can't hide the truth inside.
(It could be wrong, could be wrong) But it should have been right. (It could be wrong, could be wrong) To let our hearts ignite (It could be wrong, could be wrong) Are we digging a hole? (It could be wrong, could be wrong) This is out of control.
(It could be wrong, could be wrong) It can never last. (It could be wrong, could be wrong) Must erase it fast. (It could be wrong, could be wrong) But it could have been right. (It could be wrong, could be...)
Love is our resistance They'll keep us apart and they won't stop breaking us down. Hold me. Our lips must always be sealed.
The night has reached its end. We can't pretend. We must run... We must run... It's time to run...
Take us away from here! Protect us from further harm! Resistance !anyways, you can go here to listen to it. just click play. http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/muse/resistance.html

| HOMG ITS THE SONG I'VE BEN LOOKING FOR, FOR ALMOST A YEAR AND A HALF. At least the first minute and a half. The emotion that first part resonates with was perfect...
Now I must has go and see if I can't find a way to kill another character off... Long overdue for one of those. xD

| I think that whole CD is inspired by 1984. Like there's just much stuff taken from 1984 that I just want to reread the book to the CD XD However, a song from Muse that I can't help but fawn over is Undisclosed Desires. It seems unlike them to produce a song like this (I think because of the strange beat to it) but it's just...yum <3
I know you've suffered But I don't want you to hide It's cold and loveless I won't let you be denied
Soothing I'll make you feel pure Trust me You can be sure
I want to reconcile the violence in your heart I want to recognize your beauty's not just a mask I want to exorcise the demons from your past I want to satisfy the undisclosed desires in your heart
You trick your lovers That you're wicked and divine You may be a sinner But your innocence is mine
Please me Show me how it's done Tease me You are the one
I want to reconcile the violence in your heart I want to recognize your beauty's not just a mask I want to exorcise the demons from your past I want to satisfy the undisclosed desires in your heart
Please me Show me how it's done Trust me You are the one
I want to reconcile the violence in your heart I want to recognize your beauty's not just a mask I want to exorcise the demons from your past I want to satisfy the undisclosed desires in your heart

| Yeah, Matt Bellamy said that most of the songs on the album were inspired by 1984. There are other songs that are unmistakably 1984, like "United States of Eurasia." - Natoxi wrote:

UNDISCLOSED DESIRES is my FAVORITE song off that album! & definetly one of my favorite songs by them ever! & I know, it is kinda sorta unlike them, (maybe cuz of the keytar) but not in a bad way at all. The beat in that song is insanely addictive and the lyrics are killer! The chorus is one of my favourite chorus lyrics ever. xD "I want to reconcile the violence in your heart. I want to recognize your beauty's not just a mask. I want to exorcise the demons from your past. I want to satisfy the undisclosed desires in your heart."<3 I love it, it's just so pretty. Matt Bellamy is a genious. If you have not seen the music video, you should. I'd post the link but I kinda can't on the school computer. Booo. But it's all good, I will at home. It's an awesome video! I envy the dancer in it.

| I'm gonna blindly agree with the connection to 1984. Really, I'm not the type to find connections in music, I'm the type to just listen to it and use it as a catalyst for other things. (Like removing art/writer's block. And making almost every bloody ship I've made to date. xD)
Just a random thing about the video though- I was watching it on my PSP at the same time I was reading something about Human Crush incidents, and then I thought: O shizz, what happens if someone collapses in there? No way anyone will hear you, and it's packed, so how fast could you get pulled out?
*Is too much of a safety ho*
That and the fact that everyone is dancing like rock even when the music is calm. That just baffles me every time. xD
Regardless of the safety problems arising from packed concert arenas and human hive mind craziness, the song iz awesum. If not for the short bursts of rock in it I thing it could be one of my opening themes for Project N25. xD (Not saying they aren't good, just that it would be hard to work with them where they are. >o<)
